Remote (US) Close (https://close.com) | Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, Backend Platform | Full-time

We're bootstrapped, profitable, and 130 people, all remote, building an AI-powered CRM. We're spinning up a new Backend Platforms team and you'd be one of the first hires — unusual influence over what it owns.

You'd build for other engineers: the paved-road patterns under our Python/Flask API layer (REST + GraphQL, auth, permissions, migrations), the Flask→FastAPI path, production observability standards, and our AI dev platform — DevDawg (cloud dev environments for the whole stack) and Spice (our agent layer that already auto-approves simple PRs). Making Spice safe across more of our review surface is the team's biggest project.

Stack: Python, Flask, FastAPI, GraphQL, TaskTiger, Rust, TypeScript, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.

Looking for: deep Python, shipped LLM/agentic work to real users, daily coding-agent use with a real POV, strong observability and API design instincts.

Also: ~5 weeks PTO + winter break, optional 4-day week at 80% pay, 1-month sabbatical every 5 years, 99% of medical premiums covered, 401k match to 6%.

BOSS-IQ | CTO Partner | REMOTE (worldwide) | Full-time | Istanbul-based company | https://boss-iq.com

BOSS-IQ is an AI strategic-planning product for owner-operators of small and medium businesses. The boss describes an idea that has been stuck for years; a research-and-question session returns an implementation-ready plan. In production since June, hand-onboarding our first paying customers since August, invitation-only.

I am looking for a partner rather than a first hire, and I need two things in one person. An experienced developer who has genuinely run software in production — deployments, incidents, on-call. And a black-belt prompter. I mean that as a level, not a flourish. The tell: if you watch other developers work in AI environments and feel real frustration — everyone prompts, most prompt badly — and you have quietly built your own standing rule files, your own context discipline, your own reusable prompt library, then you already know what I am describing. That is the rarer of the two skills, and the one I weight hardest.

Under the product, 60+ specialist agents run continuous extraction over each customer's documents and sessions into a persistent, per-company memory: every fact dated and traced to its source sentence, contradictions kept rather than overwritten — a discipline we call Total Capture. Patent-pending since July, in context engineering.

Stack: TypeScript throughout. A NestJS API plus a separate NestJS worker on Railway, Next.js 16 / React 19 on Vercel, Postgres with Prisma, Redis and BullMQ, Pinecone, S3-compatible storage. Agents are LangChain.js / LangGraph ReAct agents on Anthropic Claude across three model tiers, with OpenAI embeddings. Every prompt body and model config lives in one versioned master file synced to LangSmith, never hardcoded in TypeScript.

I am the founder, and not an engineer — thirty years a strategy consultant, first terminal at the end of 2022. A contract developer built the first ~20,000 lines between December and February. Since February I have been the only developer, and it is now about 264,000 lines of TypeScript. I wrote the prompts first, 18,500 lines across 79 agent files, and the code came after to serve them.

That was the environment, not me: 45 interconnected instruction files deploying sub-agents, around 300,000 words of standing rules, orchestrated by one always-on kernel that classifies each session, auto-attaches the rules matching the files being touched, and generates sub-agentic plans for the work.

Compensation is the honest startup shape: generous equity, austerity salary. No number here — it is set against what you currently earn, and that is a conversation rather than a billboard.

Full posting: https://boss-iq.com/cto-partner.html

Apply: https://boss-iq.com/apply-cto.html — one question at a time, ending by asking you to write the prompts you would use on day one, not code. I read every one myself.

Résumé/CV: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Xy3IrCV_aZx0-rtZL8B3XrwT052...

Email: yuhruhgrape@gmail.com

I spent nine years as a process and R&D engineer in materials manufacturing, watching critical production data live and die in unversioned Excel files. I retrained as a software engineer to build the systems that should have existed. Currently full-stack at Downshift (part-time, TypeScript/NestJS/React Native) — part-time by design, so I'm free to move full-time. Available from October.

- Replaced a legacy Excel-based dataset with a Rails 8 + PostgreSQL application — schema design, data migration, and real-time dashboards replacing manual report assembly.

- Shipped Gemini-backed pipelines for two production problems: automated i18n across 3 locales, and structured extraction of medical data from uploaded images.

- Built auth from scratch, including OmniAuth for Google, GitHub, and LINE.

AiMi | Full Stack AI Engineer | Remote(Everywhere) | Full-time

AiMi builds agentic AI infrastructure for capital markets: autonomous agents that ingest venue and vendor notifications, assess impact across client infrastructure, and drive change management workflows in real time, replacing what used to be manual, static processes for exchanges and their ops teams. live production platform, not a pilot.

you'd work across the full stack: React/TypeScript frontend, Node.js backend, AWS Lambda. concretely: shipping features in the agent pipeline, building MCP-based connectors and skills that extend what our agents can reach, running evals on agent accuracy and reliability, building observability and alerting for agent latency/error rates/failed workflows, and making long-running LLM, agent, and SSE calls actually resilient (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, fail-fast, recovery). also a fair amount of diagnosing dependency/version conflicts in a Node.js/npm monorepo, which is its own skill.

looking for 2-3+ years hands-on experience, solid Node.js and REST API background, real hands-on work with LLMs or agent frameworks (Mastra, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Claude, OpenAI or similar), comfortable with AWS (Lambda, Bedrock, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito, API Gateway, CloudWatch), MongoDB/DynamoDB, and genuinely tests what you ship (unit, integration, e2e). familiarity with spec-driven development (Claude Code, Cursor, CodeRabbit or similar) is a real plus since that's how we work day to day. bonus points for capital markets/trading infra background, LLM observability tooling like Langfuse, SSE streaming experience, or PostHog.

you'd be working on great things here: real architectural decisions at an early-stage company, visible impact from week one, and room to grow into a senior or lead role as we grow.

Confido Legal | Sr. Engineer | REMOTE (US only) | Full-time | $175k–$225k base

Confido Legal builds payments infrastructure for the legal industry. We're hiring a senior engineer to design, build, and maintain our software — leading architecture and product design, and translating business requirements into technical specs.

This is a broad, high-ownership role on a small team: you'll ship and maintain features end-to-end, lead architecture discussions, write clean and testable code, build automated E2E tests, do code reviews, and participate directly in company strategic planning. You'll also work closely with marketing and sales to keep technical work aligned with the business.

Stack: TypeScript everywhere, React + Next.js (mid-migration to Next.js), AWS with Pulumi IaC, Docker/ECS, GraphQL API, Figma (engineers participate in UI/UX).

We're looking for an expert in three or more of these (TypeScript required) with 3+ years of engineering experience.

Search Atlas | Product Engineer (PM) | REMOTE (anywhere, EST hours) | Full-time contractor | $23-$34 USD/hour | https://careers.searchatlas.com/jobs/599248-product-engineer...

We're ~160 people, fully remote, building an AI marketing platform. Our main product is OTTO, which runs a site's SEO on its own - it reads live search data and pushes the technical and on-page fixes itself, nobody queues them up. Around that we've got ad automation for Google and Meta, GBP management for multi-location brands, content gen, and LLM visibility tracking (whether ChatGPT and co are citing you). Autotrader, Hyundai, P&G, Vendasta are some of our customers.

Work happens in pods, 1 PM and 2-4 engineers. You own your pod's roadmap and ship it with them, no veteran PM signing off on your specs first. That's the part most PM roles won't hand you.

Looking for 3+ years PM in B2B SaaS with an actual technical background - eng or QA before PM, or a PM who's been getting into the codebase themselves. You should be able to read Python and TS, write your own SQL, find your way around an API, and not need an engineer to tell you what a stack trace says. We're Django on the back, React/Next on the front. QA is yours end to end including release sign-off, people tend to underestimate that bit. And you're already using Claude Code or similar daily, not "open to it".

Process is screen with me, a take-home that runs about 75 mins, technical round with one of our senior PMs, then a call with our Director of Product (who you'd report to). I usually come back to people within 2 business days.

Our job board forces us to list specific countries but we hire from anywhere as long as you can do EST hours, so apply even if yours isn't on there.

Apply at the link and mention HN somewhere, in your pitch or wherever it fits. I'm João Pedro, I read all of them. joao.pedro@searchatlas.com if you need me, though the link's faster.

Prophet Town LLC | Various Software Engineering Roles | US – Remote and Hybrid | English fluency required | Full-time | $140K-$264K annual total comp (multiple)

We are a people-first, boutique tech agency creating on-demand teams and software solutions for long-standing clients. These clients trust us to practice engineering excellence as though we were members of their own staff. Our leadership team is ex-Fortune 100 with software engineering backgrounds: we’re still coding. Notable recent projects include a gigantic ERP migration for Anduril, and working with Surge Labs to help develop some of the frontier LLM models from the big guys themselves (yes, seriously). This is a remote-first agency, but some projects involve onsite work.

I’m the founder and CEO, and I’m trying to do what I call “enlightened business”. I take responsibility for both staff and clients, and I look for people who approach their work with a similar sense of ownership.

For September 2026: our current work would especially benefit from from ai-forward senior engineering expertise that can design RL benchmarks, red-team model outputs, and create rubrics to evaluate and enhance the agentic coding capabilities of various frontier models. We received 216 applications in our August posting, and issued offers to approximately 10 (still following up with a few).

Applicants must meet a high bar - I intend to have a personal relationship with every hire. In return you’ll get:

  * Flexibility and a low-bureaucracy environment

  * Clients that won’t treat the vendor like “the B Team”

  * The chance to act as a code architect, not just implement tickets

  * Exposure to a wide variety of industries and modern challenges

  * Me as your personal champion and advocate
Feel free to submit, even if you already did in the past.

Current roles available:

Back-end, Front-end, and Full-Stack Software Engineers, Tiers 3 and 4 (Typescript/Javascript, React, NextJS; Ruby on Rails; Python; DevOps, and third-party API integrations)

Tier 3 roles are typically 5-10 years experience with $140-$180K total comp. Tier 4 roles are 11-20 years experience, $210-$264K total comp. Higher tiers exist, and we always welcome exceptional applications.

Mastra | Customer Engineer | REMOTE (AMER or EMEA time zones) | Full-time

Mastra is the open-source TypeScript framework for building AI agents (agents, workflows, memory, evals, tracing). From the team behind Gatsby, YC-backed,https://github.com/mastra-ai/mastra

We're hiring a customer engineer. Some companies would call this an FDE; we don't, because roughly half the job is shipping in the framework itself. The other half you're embedded with paying customers deploying agents to production: in their Slack channels and on calls, writing code in their repos, reviewing their PRs, working through architecture with their engineers. What you learn there comes back as bug fixes, features, and new primitives in Mastra. One of our current customer engineers is among the top bug-fixers in the entire codebase.

You should be a full-stack TypeScript engineer who has built agents and who can explain technical decisions clearly to engineers who haven't seen your code.

Remote. We have a lot of EU customers and response-time SLAs, so US Eastern/Central or EU hours work best.

Process: a call with Shane (co-founder/CPO, leads customer engineering), a conversation with a customer engineer, a 2-3 hour take-home, then you present it to us and get feedback.

Apply: {https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/Mastra/05172cb0-47ec-44f9-9fe8-07d4...} We get back to everyone.

About me. Senior backend engineer, ten years on the JVM. Since 2021 I have been one of the engineers behind LoverCraft, a US survival network that peaks at 1,500 concurrent players and holds 300 to 450 on a normal evening, with 30+ cross-server services spread across several Debian hosts. Team of three to five. My work is low-latency cross-server state over Redis, an economy with an audit row per transaction, JVM tuning, and end-to-end telemetry on ClickHouse. When a backend goes down mid-session, players notice in seconds and I am in the incident channel.

Before that, five years at Senior Sistemas building Java, Spring Boot and Angular for Kinross Gold, Petrobras, Banco BMG and Grendene. Intern to owning the software factory's architecture area.

Production work is closed-source under contract. The open-source side is on GitHub, written up on the site. Best fit: real-time or high-throughput backends, game and multiplayer infrastructure, platform work. English is fluent written, intermediate spoken.

Legile | Senior Full-Stack AI Engineer (CTO track) | Antwerp, Belgium | HYBRID | Full-time | Belgium-based only

Legile builds OneView, a legal AI platform that legal teams use in production for contract review, risk and compliance. We recently joined the Anchr software group and are scaling from proven MVP to production-grade platform.

You join as the third person in the team, next to the two founders, and take technical ownership of OneView: retrieval (PostgreSQL/pgvector), LangGraph pipelines, FastAPI backend, React/TypeScript frontend, plus the CI/CD and observability that let a small team ship with confidence. Prior Labs | Berlin, Freiburg, NYC | ONSITE | Full-time | ML Infra, Research Scientist/Engineer, Backend, Full Stack

We build foundation models for tabular data. Deep learning transformed text and images but mostly skipped tables, which are still the data behind most clinical trials, financial models and scientific experiments. The reason is structural: no natural sequence, no spatial structure, no shared vocabulary across datasets, so the architectures and scaling laws behind LLMs don't transfer.

Our approach: pre-train a transformer on millions of synthetic datasets sampled from causal-structure priors. The whole dataset goes in as context, predictions come out in one forward pass. No per-dataset training, no hyperparameter tuning, seconds instead of hours. TabPFN v2 was published in Nature and set a new state of the art; TabPFN-3 scales to 10M rows. 4M+ downloads, 8k+ GitHub stars, in production from liquid biopsy to rail maintenance. Code: https://github.com/PriorLabs/TabPFN

Since July we're an independent lab inside SAP, with more than EUR 1B committed over four years. Models stay open, research stays public, same team and offices.

Roles (most can sit in any of the three offices):

- Senior ML Infrastructure Engineer: own multi-cluster GPU infra (Slurm on GCP today, multi-provider next), training performance and the tooling layer. We spend tens of millions per year on compute; you own that budget.

- Research Scientist, Foundation Model: drive the model agenda - novel architectures, scaling from 10K to 1M+ samples, multimodal and causal directions. PhD plus top-venue publications, or equivalent.

- Research Engineer, Foundation Model: same agenda from the engineering side. You design experiments, write the training and eval infra, and co-author the papers.

- ML Engineer, Cloud Platform: design and scale the backend that serves and finetunes the models. Python/FastAPI, Terraform, K8s.

- Full Stack Engineer, ML Platform: build the product end to end. TypeScript + Python, React/FastAPI/Postgres.

Also hiring: Applied Scientist, Forward Deployed ML Engineer, Research Scientist (Foundational Data Science), PhD research interns, plus GTM and ops roles.

~40 people with backgrounds from Google, DeepMind, Jane Street, Goldman, G-Research, CERN. Led by Frank Hutter, advised by Bernhard Schölkopf and Yann LeCun. Comp competitive with top AI labs.

Strobe Power | Site Reliability Engineer | ONSITE (SF) | https://strobepower.com

AI data centers are creating a massive new wave of electricity demand and putting even more strain on an aging grid. Strobe is building the power company that will meet that demand.

Our software turns batteries and generators at commercial and industrial buildings into distributed power plants that can buy, sell, and dispatch electricity in real time. We build the control stack for operating these assets and the trading platform that connects them to wholesale energy markets.

We’re a small, high-ownership team working on critical infrastructure. You’ll learn how the energy system actually works: what happens inside the electrical room of a large commercial building, how data centers are powered, how utilities and grid operators communicate, and how a battery gets commissioned and brought online.

This is early, technical, and very real-world. The software you build will control physical equipment, keep power plants online, and move money in regulated markets. We’re the only company actively trading distributed power in FERC-regulated wholesale markets, with multiple behind-the-meter power plants operating in NYC and expansion underway in California and along the East Coast.

I’m looking for an experienced SRE to own our infrastructure and reliability. We remotely operate millions of dollars of equipment, and it has to work. You’ll own our AWS environment, the control-room infrastructure that communicates directly with utilities and market operators, and the systems we use to deploy, observe, and operate a growing fleet. You’ll also work closely with the rest of the engineering team to establish good patterns as we ship new services and features.

You’re probably a good fit if you have deep AWS experience, have used Terraform seriously in production, write a lot of Python, and are comfortable working around Rust services. Energy experience is useful but not required (SCADA, DNP3, MQTT).

Stack: Python, TypeScript, Rust, Terraform, AWS, GraphQL/AppSync, MQTT, Grafana. We work in a monorepo designed for agent-assisted engineering workflows and are investing heavily in making engineers dramatically more effective with coding agents.

Instead of generic interview guides, we autonomously research company-specific interview experiences across Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, engineering blogs, company websites, Glassdoor, and other public sources, then generate structured preparation reports in minutes.

We are already profitable with 3k+ paid users.

Our stack currently includes Next.js, React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, Vercel, AWS, and modern AI tooling. Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, MCP, RAG, vector databases, or AI agents is a strong plus, but curiosity and the ability to learn quickly matter more.

We're looking for someone who:

Has strong full-stack engineering skills. Has built and deployed production applications. Loves working with AI and LLM-powered products. Takes ownership and ships quickly. Has personal projects or open-source work they're proud of.

Expected salary: $30k – $90k (flexible based on experience, impact, and per capita)

Expected Joining Date: 1st October
