TrakPro | Senior Rails Engineer | REMOTE (overlap with Ireland 9–5 GMT) | €48–60k/yr

We're a construction payment management SaaS based in Ireland. Main contractors and subcontractors use us to track subcontracts, payment applications, and retentions — replacing the spreadsheets they currently rely on. Small team of 5 (3 in engineering), customers in Ireland and the UK.

We're hiring our 3rd engineer. You'd own features end-to-end alongside our two existing engineers. Async-first, fully remote, real product ownership.

What we want: - 5+ years shipping Rails in production - Daily Claude Code or Codex user with a real workflow, your own skills/hooks/commands, opinions on when to override the agent, habit of reviewing AI output as critically as a junior PR - Strong written English, calm under customer-facing pressure

Stack: Rails 8, Hotwire (Turbo + Stimulus), Postgres, RSpec, AWS, GitHub Actions

Apply: product-hiring@trak-pro.com please share your resume and a one paragraph note on your AI workflow (tools, skills, hooks, or commands you've built). https://trak-pro.com

Prophet Town LLC | Various Software Engineering Roles | US – Remote and Hybrid | English fluency required | Full-time | $150K-$260K annual total comp (multiple)

We are a people-first, boutique tech agency creating on-demand teams and software solutions for long-standing clients. These clients trust us to practice engineering excellence as though we were members of their own staff. Our leadership team is ex-Fortune 100 with software engineering backgrounds and still coding. Notable recent projects include internal tools for Anduril, and the original buildout (both auction site and operations infrastructure) of Voltage Park. This is a remote-first agency, but some projects involve onsite work.

I’m the founder and CEO, and I’m trying to do what I call “enlightened business”. I take responsibility for both staff and clients, and I look for people who approach their work with a similar sense of ownership.

Applicants must meet a high bar - I personally review every hire. In return you’ll get:

  * Flexibility and a low-bureaucracy environment
  * Clients that won’t treat the vendor like “the B Team”
  * The chance to act as a code architect, not just implement tickets
  * Exposure to a wide variety of industries and modern challenges
  * Me as your personal champion and advocate
Feel free to submit, even if you already did in the past.

We’re currently especially seeking:

Back-end, Front-end, and Full-Stack Software Engineers, Tiers 3 and 4 (Typescript/Javascript, React, NextJS; Ruby on Rails; Python; DevOps, and third-party API integrations)

Tier 3 roles are typically 5-10 years experience with $150-$180K total comp.

Tier 4 roles are 11-20 years experience, $215-$260K total comp

(Higher tiers exist, and we always welcome exceptional applications.)

Though not yet universal, many of our clients are now demanding senior/staff engineers with success using modern agentic approaches. Be ready to explain where current models work well and where they do not.

Missive | Senior Backend Developer | REMOTE | Full-time

Missive brings inbox collaboration to teams that run on email.

This isn’t your typical SaaS; it’s a full-fledged app users live in all day. We integrate with dozens of APIs and servers, process 10M+ emails, 100M+ requests per day serving thousands of users who collaborate in real-time. If you’re excited by data at large scale, complex edge cases and third parties that always find new ways to fail, this is for you.

Missive started over a decade ago. It is mature, still 100% founder-owned and highly profitable. We’re in it for the long run; a small, dedicated team building a product customers genuinely love.

We keep our stack simple and that doesn’t mean boring. The backend is a Rails monolith, Postgres, plus a few tiny services in Ruby, Node or Bun.

Opendate | Senior Full Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails) | REMOTE (US only) | Full-time | https://www.opendate.io/careers/senior-full-stack-software-e...

Opendate is the operating system for live music venues — booking, ticketing, marketing, and settlement, all in one place. We replace the tangle of spreadsheets, holds-and-confirms email chains, and ticketing platforms that independent venues, promoters, and festivals have been duct-taping together for decades. Customers range from 200-cap clubs to multi-day festivals.

We're a Rails shop with real backend problems: multi-tenant ticketing at on-sale scale, financial settlements that have to reconcile to the penny, and integrations with the rest of the music industry's plumbing (Stripe, Dwolla, Seats.io, Twilio, SendGrid). If you like systems where correctness actually matters and the users are people you can go meet at a show, you'll fit in.

Stack: Rails, React/Redux, PostgreSQL, Redis, BigQuery, AWS, GCP, Docker, Terraform. Flutter on mobile. AI-first engineering culture — Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot are part of the daily workflow, not banned from it.

100% remote within the US (no sponsorship), with optional Indianapolis or Chicago offices if you want them. Looking for 5+ years of senior full-stack experience, comfortable owning projects end-to-end and shipping to production weekly.

Y Combinator | Product Engineers on YC's own team | San Francisco | Full Time | $185K-$485K

I'm Ryan, an EM and engineer here at YC. We have a small, 18-person software team with no PMs -- engineers own everything end-to-end.

We build the software behind YC's $6B in investments: tools that help partners evaluate thousands of startups per batch, AI-powered apps that founders use every day, and platforms like Work at a Startup that connect candidates with YC companies. Engineers get unlimited AI tokens -- both for development and to build AI-powered products. What wouldn't you build to help founders + YC with that much firepower?

What makes this different from other roles:

* You'd learn more about startups here than you could possibly imagine. Every batch brings hundreds of founders building things across every industry, and you're right in the middle of it.

* We attend Demo Day, founder dinners, and work directly with partners and many of the companies. (They make great products!)

* We pay well, offer carry in the fund (like equity), and provide generous relocation support if you're not in SF yet.

Two roles open:

* Product Engineer -- full-stack, own the product lifecycle. Rails/React stack. Build tools that power how YC invests in and supports startups. It's a wide range, and sometimes it feels like labs-like work, other times it feels like a supersuit to power founders and our Partners like Garry and Jared.

* Community Builder and Software Engineer -- hybrid role. Run YC's talent-facing programs (meetups, tech talks, career expos) AND build the software that makes them scale. You need to be a great engineer and LOVE to build and support communities.

We're also exploring a Technical Chief of Staff role to work with one of our GPs -- someone who can think analytically, drive operations, and scale what they do with software.

Checkout more about the roles, and email me directly if you're excited to learn more about startups than you will anywhere else - ryan@ycombinator.com
