Endless Access | Engineering Lead | Hybrid NYC | full time | 150k-250k

We're a mission-oriented org focused on bridging the global digital divide. Key to our strategy is our community game-making program: guiding learners to move from playing games to creating them. We're hiring a tech lead for our learner community platform.

Stack: Node.js, Nuxt/Vue, Apollo, GraphQL. 8+ years experience; open-source/community/edtech background desirable.

https://endlessaccess.bamboohr.com/careers/33

This is a true tech lead job: making calls about implementation, holding the standard, owning the shared delivery plan. You'll partner with a product lead on strategy, and with an engineering manager for roadmapping & delivery. You will also work hands-on in the codebase. We're a small team (about 40) and everyone is hands-on.

There's a unique org structure at play here: Endless is a multi-pronged organization, and two of them share the platform. So the role has one foot in each organization - the hiring entity is Endless Studios, and most of the engineers work at Endless Access. You'll collaborate with passionate, brilliant people on both sides of the house.

I don't refer; apply directly at the link above. All applications are reviewed by a human.

Confido Legal | Sr. Engineer | REMOTE (US only) | Full-time | $175k–$225k base

Confido Legal builds payments infrastructure for the legal industry. We're hiring a senior engineer to design, build, and maintain our software — leading architecture and product design, and translating business requirements into technical specs.

This is a broad, high-ownership role on a small team: you'll ship and maintain features end-to-end, lead architecture discussions, write clean and testable code, build automated E2E tests, do code reviews, and participate directly in company strategic planning. You'll also work closely with marketing and sales to keep technical work aligned with the business.

Stack: TypeScript everywhere, React + Next.js (mid-migration to Next.js), AWS with Pulumi IaC, Docker/ECS, GraphQL API, Figma (engineers participate in UI/UX).

We're looking for an expert in three or more of these (TypeScript required) with 3+ years of engineering experience.

~2 onsite meetings/year. Open PTO, fully paid medical/vision/dental. Apply: https://careers.confidolegal.com/careers/sr-engineer

Strobe Power | Site Reliability Engineer | ONSITE (SF) | https://strobepower.com

AI data centers are creating a massive new wave of electricity demand and putting even more strain on an aging grid. Strobe is building the power company that will meet that demand.

Our software turns batteries and generators at commercial and industrial buildings into distributed power plants that can buy, sell, and dispatch electricity in real time. We build the control stack for operating these assets and the trading platform that connects them to wholesale energy markets.

We’re a small, high-ownership team working on critical infrastructure. You’ll learn how the energy system actually works: what happens inside the electrical room of a large commercial building, how data centers are powered, how utilities and grid operators communicate, and how a battery gets commissioned and brought online.

This is early, technical, and very real-world. The software you build will control physical equipment, keep power plants online, and move money in regulated markets. We’re the only company actively trading distributed power in FERC-regulated wholesale markets, with multiple behind-the-meter power plants operating in NYC and expansion underway in California and along the East Coast.

I’m looking for an experienced SRE to own our infrastructure and reliability. We remotely operate millions of dollars of equipment, and it has to work. You’ll own our AWS environment, the control-room infrastructure that communicates directly with utilities and market operators, and the systems we use to deploy, observe, and operate a growing fleet. You’ll also work closely with the rest of the engineering team to establish good patterns as we ship new services and features.

You’re probably a good fit if you have deep AWS experience, have used Terraform seriously in production, write a lot of Python, and are comfortable working around Rust services. Energy experience is useful but not required (SCADA, DNP3, MQTT).

Stack: Python, TypeScript, Rust, Terraform, AWS, GraphQL/AppSync, MQTT, Grafana. We work in a monorepo designed for agent-assisted engineering workflows and are investing heavily in making engineers dramatically more effective with coding agents.

Silkline | Software Engineer | Chicago, Seattle | ONSITE (5 days/week) | $150k-$225k + equity | https://silkline.ai

Modern hardware supply chains run on spreadsheets, email, PDFs, and prayer. It's like fax woke up in 2026. We're fixing it with an AI-first procurement platform for aerospace, defense, and nuclear manufacturing - customers include Machina Labs, Astranis, K2 Space, Castelion, and Antares.

At SmallSat last month, a supplier walked up to me (in a full spacesuit costume), said "oh you're from Silkline, we love you guys!" and handed us a roadmap item on the spot. That's the job: sit with customers, hear what's broken, ship it. 0-1 product, real UI/UX ownership, ERP integrations that sync POs and manufacturing data.

Stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, GraphQL, Trigger.dev. You: 5+ years full-stack, startup or 0-1 experience, fast with APIs (bonus: ERPs). The role touches ITAR-controlled data, so US persons only, no visa sponsorship.

We 5x'd our customer base this past year and continue to grow fast. Small team, direct line to the founders (Isaac and myself). Also: space-suited mascot named Silky.

Ashby | YC 19 | REMOTE | Hiring Senior/Staff Product Engineers (Americas) | $178k–$299k

Ashby is the all-in-one recruiting platform powering hiring at the world's most innovative companies. If you cmd+f "Ashby" you'll see that we're powering many of the job postings in this thread!

As we scale our platform, we are also looking to scale our Product Engineering team.

Why Join?

High Seniority & Density: 80%+ of our engineering team is Senior–Staff+ level. You’ll be working alongside peers who excel at navigating ambiguity and setting high standards.

True End-to-End Ownership: We give an unusual amount of autonomy. You’ll own features from initial spec writing and customer interviews all the way to production. Many of our most loved features were built entirely by a single engineer!

Product Sense > Pure Speed: Building fast is getting easier, but building the right thing still isn't. Customer empathy, sound judgment, and product taste matter far more to us than where you worked in the past.

100% Remote Async Culture: Low meeting overhead, high trust, and an even distribution of engineers across North America and Europe.

Here's how we're thinking about AI at Ashby: https://www.ashbyhq.com/blog/engineering/ai-ashby-engineerin...

DAT | Frontline Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager | Seattle, Portland, Denver | Hybrid 2-3 days/week | Full-time | $192k - $261k

I'm hiring for a frontline EM building the automation and trust layer for freight pricing, matching, onboarding, and settlement.Lead 1-3 teams (FTE + contractors), own delivery end-to-end, ~8 yrs exp typical. I expect everyone in my eng org (myself included!) to be technical and be able to help unblock the team, though your day-to-day wont be in the code.

Technical here means you can/will get into the code yourself and architecture reviews and maintain technical credibility with our junior to staff/principal level engineers. These are not player-coach roles, but these are frontline roles that need that technical capability.

Interesting problems: trust/fraud at marketplace scale; legacy-data-meets-modern-stack; and all kinds of problems that come with powering hundreds of thousands of load/shipment postings every day.

AI/LLM: We are leaned in, but still hold humans responsible for what they push and expect everyone to review and understand llm output before asking other humans to look at a thing.

Culture: I am deeply familiar with Google's project oxygen/aristotle and am building a culture where our teams can do great work with minimal bs.

Location: Must be local to one of our three locations (Seattle, Portland, Denver).

Primary Tech: Node/TS, React, GraphQL, Kafka/redpanda, k8s, AWS, etc

https://careers.dat.com/jobs/?gh_jid=6139594004

Reach out directly at <fname>.<lname>+hn@dat.com; I am the hiring manager for these roles. I'll junk anything that smells of AI.

Mingla | CTO (ONSITE, Stockholm) or Part-time Engineer (REMOTE ok) | https://mingla.com

Mingla makes strangers meet at in-person events: attendees scan a QR code and are straight in — no App Store, no signup — gamified missions start real conversations, and the organizer gets proof of what happened in the room.

You'd own the platform end to end: Elixir/Phoenix backend (Ash, GraphQL, Postgres) and a native SwiftUI iOS app — the QR entry is an App Clip. We're open to two setups: a full-time CTO onsite in Stockholm, or a part-time engineer who can work remote.

Apply: hello@mingla.io, subject "HN: CTO / Engineer", with a link to something you've built and one line on which setup fits you. No cover letter needed.

Location: Córdoba, Argentina Remote: Yes, remote only Willing to relocate: No Technologies: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node, GraphQL with Apollo, Playwright, SQLite, Postgres, LLM agents, MCP servers, RAG, promptfoo evals, OpenTelemetry Résumé/CV: https://portfolio-aguirre-alexis.vercel.app GitHub: https://github.com/ale-aguirre Email: aguirrealexis.cba@gmail.com

Full-stack dev, 5+ years, last year spent building LLM products rather than demos.

I have a document comparison SaaS running in production at an Argentine auto parts manufacturer, 72 employees, in a domain audited against IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. Two people there use it for their actual work. The interesting part is not the LLM call, it is the semantic reclassification I run after it, because the model kept flagging paraphrases as real differences.

I also run an autonomous job search agent on my own search. The useful thing it taught me was that my own verifier was lying. It counted a URL redirect as a successful application, and one integration had been failing at zero percent for months while the aggregate sat at seventy eight.

A job posting with hidden instructions once got that same agent to write ten years of Kubernetes into my CV. The system prompt did not stop it, a deterministic validator did. I published that as intent-gate on npm.

Yesterday I shipped a PR and two issues to an open source AI SDLC project, one of them about an agent being able to write the field that marks its own check as platform verified.

Open to full-time or contract.

Shepherd (Series B) | ONSITE | San Francisco, CA

At Shepherd, we're pursuing the most ambitious technical vision in commercial insurance: fully autonomous underwriting. Shepherd is an AI-native commercial insurance platform transforming how high-hazard industries get covered.

The infrastructure behind the AI boom (data centers, semiconductor fabs, renewable energy assets) has to be built and insured, but traditional carriers weren't built for this speed. We built Shepherd to solve that.

We announced our $42M Series B earlier this year! That brings our total funding to over $60M — led by Intact Private Capital, the investment arm of one of the largest insurers in the world. Intact is not only our lead investor but also a carrier partner, a testament to the confidence the incumbent industry has in what we're building.

We’re looking for product-minded, high ownership engineers to join our team! The Engineering team is HQ’d in SF, but we’re growing in NYC now too!

We’re hiring for 4 Senior SWEs, 1 MLE and 1 AI PM in SF, and 2 Staff SWEs in NYC. Engineers own projects end-to-end so full stack ability is expected.

Check out our open roles here: https://shepherdinsurance.com/careers

Our stack includes: Typescript, React, Next.js, GraphQL w/ Apollo, Node.js, Postgres & Redis

– If you have experience building AI agents or multi-step reasoning systems, we’d love to hear from you.

* In the form, be sure to mention that you heard about this opportunity via Hacker News.
