Starwood Pet Travel is hiring a Full-Stack Developer (Django / Python) — REMOTE.

Starwood is the premier US-based animal transport company — safely transporting thousands of pets all over the world annually. On the tech side, we're a small team looking to build a strong software CX to assist & match our world-class customer support team. Our main tech tools this role would work on are our (existing) customer portal and and all-new quoting/offer/checkout tool allowing customers to get instant on-site pricing. Many other ad hoc projects/tools are on our development plan beyond our core tools. If you like a diversity of projects in a super niche industry, and are comfortable being nimble, this is the role for you.

Tech Stack—

Frontend: Django Templates, HTML, CSS, JavaScript Backend: Django (Python), PostgreSQL, Snowflake Integrations: HubSpot, Stripe, SendGrid, Google Drive Cloud & Infra: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Analytics & Monitoring: Google Analytics, Hotjar, Sentry

Looking for ~2–5 years of experience, $80k-95k DOE + generous benefits.

About me: Hi, I’m Giorgi — a Full-Stack Web Developer with around four years of experience in frontend development and about a year in backend and AI-related work. I’ve collaborated in various settings — from freelancing individually to working with teams in digital agency and startup — which helped me develop strong adaptability and teamwork skills. Most of my career has focused on building and maintaining WordPress websites (custom themes, ACF, Twig, Gutenberg), but over the past two years I’ve also been involved in React/Next.js projects. Recently, I’ve taken a growing interest in backend and AI development through my work at Onconest, an AI-powered health startup, where I contribute to both backend and AI implementation. I’m passionate about clean, accessible web experiences — over the last year, I’ve led accessibility improvements for large-scale projects in a US-based digital agency. I’m always eager to learn, improve, and take on new challenges where I can deliver results and make an impact.

Compass IoT | https://www.compassiot.com.au | ONSITE with Flex (Sydney, AU) | $130-180k AUD

Compass is hiring a full-time front-end developer.

I'm Emily, one of the founders. We are a multi-award-winning start-up that uses connected vehicle data to help transport professionals build better, safer, cities across ANZ, the UK, and USA. This includes B2B and B2G (gov). Notably, our dev team consists of ex-Canva, ex-Huawei, and ex-Agoda. We're bootstrapped, financially stable, and in our 7th year of operations.

The company is employee-owned and has a generous performance-based equity scheme. We value our company culture and work hard to provide meaningful career experiences for all staff, including projects that have changed the transport policy landscape in at least 3 different countries. We care about your experience at work and provide opportunities to grow and learn cool stuff. Our goal is to have a relatively small, motivated team of highly-paid, nice people who feel they are working on projects with tangible impact.

Requirements: - At least 3 years of experience. Ideally, your experience would be in front-end, but back-end development experience is also valuable. - Ideally, you would have some knowledge and/or experience in Typescript, React, State management (Jotai and MobX highly regarded), CSS Modules, Mapbox or similar. - Nice-to-haves include Async generators and promises, Protobuf, and GCP.

The role is onsite with flex; we ask new staff to come into the office during their first few months so that they get to know the team and the tech, but are open to more hybrid after the initial onboarding period.

We're a relatively small (25 people) team. We value people who are collaborative, problem solvers, flexible thinkers, take ownership over problems, and are do-ers who leave their ego at the door.

Other cool stuff: - Almost all Australian state govs use our software to improve roads and safety - We helped change the law in NZ around digital road pricing - We've won +7 different awards, including one from Google - We keep a well-stocked snack fridge and keep you caffeinated

Chuck us an email at directors@compassiot.com.au with a CV and github/project portfolio.

PrairieLearn (Remote US) — Full-Stack Software Engineer — TypeScript / Node / Postgres / AI

PrairieLearn (https://www.prairielearn.com) is an open-source assessment platform originally developed at the University of Illinois and now used by universities across the US (Berkeley, Princeton, Michigan, UIUC, and others). We power mastery-based learning, interactive question generators, and large-scale exams.

We’re a small, profitable, early-stage company (bootstrapped, no VC) and we’re hiring a full-stack engineer to help us continue to grow. You’ll work across the stack and have meaningful ownership from day one.

We’re also developing AI tooling in the product:

* LLM-based agents to help instructors create and test new question generators

* Vision-language models for grading student-submitted work (e.g., math derivations, diagrams, sketches)

This is practical, user-facing AI work with real-world impact — not a research sandbox.

Tech we use:

* Node.js / TypeScript backend, Postgres, AWS, React

* PrairieLearn is open core: https://github.com/PrairieLearn/PrairieLearn

You might be a fit if you:

* Have experience with full-stack web development (TypeScript / Python / SQL / HTML/CSS)

* Enjoy working directly with users (many are instructors and TAs)

* Want to own features end-to-end, from idea to rollout

* Are excited about building practical AI integrations, not just demos

Details:

* Location: Remote (US only)

* Salary: $100k+ depending on experience

* Benefits: Stock options, unlimited PTO, flexible hours

* Role: Full-time. (We’re not able to sponsor visas at this time.)

If this sounds interesting, please email jobs@prairielearn.com. We’d love to talk.
