Remote (US) Close (https://close.com) | Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, Backend Platform | Full-time

We're bootstrapped, profitable, and 130 people, all remote, building an AI-powered CRM. We're spinning up a new Backend Platforms team and you'd be one of the first hires — unusual influence over what it owns.

You'd build for other engineers: the paved-road patterns under our Python/Flask API layer (REST + GraphQL, auth, permissions, migrations), the Flask→FastAPI path, production observability standards, and our AI dev platform — DevDawg (cloud dev environments for the whole stack) and Spice (our agent layer that already auto-approves simple PRs). Making Spice safe across more of our review surface is the team's biggest project.

Stack: Python, Flask, FastAPI, GraphQL, TaskTiger, Rust, TypeScript, Kafka, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.

Looking for: deep Python, shipped LLM/agentic work to real users, daily coding-agent use with a real POV, strong observability and API design instincts.

Also: ~5 weeks PTO + winter break, optional 4-day week at 80% pay, 1-month sabbatical every 5 years, 99% of medical premiums covered, 401k match to 6%.

ALBERT | REMOTE ALMOST ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD| Hiring principal and distinguished engineers to build net new products | up to ~ $750k Hiring: exceptional consumer product engineers at Albert.

We're a consumer fintech with 25M+ users who trust us to budget, save, invest, and bank in one place. Profitable for 4+ years. And as of today, our average employee tenure is 3.6 years, a number you almost never see in startup tech, and one we're quietly proud of. People stay because the work is good, the people are sharp, and we've built something worth staying for.

Now we're building net-new consumer products from zero, and we're looking for people who love to tinker and build stuff to ship them with us.

The kind of person we're looking for: • Top fraction of a percentile in craft, the kind of good that's hard to fake • Builds for fun, not just for work. The kind who ships a working prototype over the weekend and can't help themselves • Comfortable owning 0 to 1 consumer products end-to-end • Allergic to politics, theater, and bureaucracy

What you get: • Remote, anywhere with reasonable timezone overlap (and for someone truly exceptional, we'll make async work) • Real scale from day one (20M+ users, real money, real consequences) • Compensation that beats the market. We pay well and we mean it. Base, discretionary year-end bonus, meaningful 401(k) match, and meaningful equity in a profitable, growing unicorn (the kind that's actually worth something) • Platinum PPO health benefits with Blue Shield, top of the top of the line, covering your entire family • A mission worth your time: make money simple, so people spend less time managing it and keep more of it • Small senior-heavy teams, direct ownership, no layers • Forthcoming with the business metrics that matter, so you always know how the company is actually doing • The startup perks done right: catered lunches, wellness stipend, team offsites, casual dress. The stuff that compounds when you're showing up engaged for years, not months • Profitable for 4+ years, so you build with conviction, not runway anxiety

Stack: python, claude, postgres, react.js /react native

If this is you, email us at recruiting@albert.com

Edit: we are in the process of rebuilding our career site to speak to how we hire (e.g. hunt, dont post, find the best). Just an FYI

Also, we carefully review every application. If we think there may be a fit, we'll reach out within a few business days. Either way, thank you for your interest in what we're building and for taking the time to connect with us.

Estuary | US-Based / Remote | Full-time – https://estuary.dev/

Estuary is a VC-backed, post–Series A startup powering right-time data replication and transform — from sub-second CDC replication to terabyte-scale OLAP data flows. We're open-source, developer-first, and focused on making data movement radically simpler across both our Platform and Applications layers.

We're hiring for:

Head of Engineering — Own the engineering function end-to-end as a partner to our founder CTO: strategy, people, delivery, and operations across a compact but high-leverage team. You'll grow the leaders already running our teams, set technical strategy jointly with the CTO, and be accountable for what engineering ships and what it costs.

Product Manager — Own product areas end-to-end, working closely with engineering and design to shape the roadmap and deliver a great developer experience. Engage with users, translate real-world use cases into product decisions, and help define how modern data infrastructure should feel to build with.

Customer Success Manager — Own the post-sale relationship for our data engineering and platform customers as our first CS hire. You'll build onboarding, account health monitoring, and the expansion playbook from scratch while staying technical enough to resolve most issues yourself.

Technical Product Marketing Manager — Founding product marketing hire working closely with Estuary's Head of Marketing and Developer Relations team. Help shape how we position and communicate the platform to technical audiences through product launches, messaging, technical content, demos, customer stories, and developer-facing campaigns.

Senior Growth Marketer, Content & Video — Take the technical content our team already produces and multiply its reach: slicing long-form posts into social, video, and email, running our webinar program, and owning our social and lifecycle channels. You're a hands-on writer, designer, and video editor who knows how to turn one strong piece into a dozen that actually get seen.

Senior Compliance Engineer — Own our GDPR and PCI DSS programs while keeping our audited SOC 2 and HIPAA programs running smoothly, alongside hands-on ownership of identity, endpoint, and SaaS estate management. This is a governance-first role for someone who has run a compliance program end-to-end, not just contributed to one.

What we're looking for: People who care about building reliable, maintainable systems and processes and enjoy working with complex APIs, data flows, or customer relationships. We value curiosity, clear communication, and a willingness to learn.

Bonus points for experience with CDC tools, open source contributions, or fast-paced startups.

Newton's Tree | Forward Deployed Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer | London, UK | HYBRID | Full-Time | https://www.newtonstree.ai/

Newton's Tree is an early-stage health-tech startup enabling healthcare providers to select, test, deploy, and monitor third-party AI applications as part of routine care pathways. Our enterprise AI platform allows hospitals to safely and effectively adopt AI technologies at scale.

We are looking for adventurous builders to join us in two key roles to help bridge our platform and the hospital frontline:

Forward Deployed Engineer (£70k-£90k): You will be the critical link between our internal engineering team and hospital IT teams. While our SRE team focuses on core platform stability, you will own the site-specific implementations—navigating complex local networks, architecting integration paths, and ensuring our AI platform works across diverse environments. Stack: Linux, Kubernetes, JSON/YAML, Python, SQL, and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7v2, FHIR, DICOM). https://www.newtonstree.ai/job/forward-deploy-engineer

Site Reliability Engineer (£70k-£90k): You will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our AI platform both in hospital sites (on-prem) and on the cloud. You'll work closely with customers to install hardware for Kubernetes clusters and collaborate with dev teams to ensure swift, reliable feature deployments. Stack: Linux, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, GitOps (FluxCD), Argo Workflows, Talos Linux, Cilium CNI, Teleport, and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog). https://www.newtonstree.ai/job/site-reliability-engineer

Logistics: Both roles are Hybrid within the UK (with occasional in-person working in London and travel to hospital sites as needed). Please note that applicants must have the right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

To apply: Send your CV and a short note telling us why you'd be excited to work with Newton's Tree to info@newtonstree.com, or read more at the links above.

BOSS-IQ | CTO Partner | REMOTE (worldwide) | Full-time | Istanbul-based company | https://boss-iq.com

BOSS-IQ is an AI strategic-planning product for owner-operators of small and medium businesses. The boss describes an idea that has been stuck for years; a research-and-question session returns an implementation-ready plan. In production since June, hand-onboarding our first paying customers since August, invitation-only.

I am looking for a partner rather than a first hire, and I need two things in one person. An experienced developer who has genuinely run software in production — deployments, incidents, on-call. And a black-belt prompter. I mean that as a level, not a flourish. The tell: if you watch other developers work in AI environments and feel real frustration — everyone prompts, most prompt badly — and you have quietly built your own standing rule files, your own context discipline, your own reusable prompt library, then you already know what I am describing. That is the rarer of the two skills, and the one I weight hardest.

Under the product, 60+ specialist agents run continuous extraction over each customer's documents and sessions into a persistent, per-company memory: every fact dated and traced to its source sentence, contradictions kept rather than overwritten — a discipline we call Total Capture. Patent-pending since July, in context engineering.

Stack: TypeScript throughout. A NestJS API plus a separate NestJS worker on Railway, Next.js 16 / React 19 on Vercel, Postgres with Prisma, Redis and BullMQ, Pinecone, S3-compatible storage. Agents are LangChain.js / LangGraph ReAct agents on Anthropic Claude across three model tiers, with OpenAI embeddings. Every prompt body and model config lives in one versioned master file synced to LangSmith, never hardcoded in TypeScript.

I am the founder, and not an engineer — thirty years a strategy consultant, first terminal at the end of 2022. A contract developer built the first ~20,000 lines between December and February. Since February I have been the only developer, and it is now about 264,000 lines of TypeScript. I wrote the prompts first, 18,500 lines across 79 agent files, and the code came after to serve them.

That was the environment, not me: 45 interconnected instruction files deploying sub-agents, around 300,000 words of standing rules, orchestrated by one always-on kernel that classifies each session, auto-attaches the rules matching the files being touched, and generates sub-agentic plans for the work.

Compensation is the honest startup shape: generous equity, austerity salary. No number here — it is set against what you currently earn, and that is a conversation rather than a billboard.

Full posting: https://boss-iq.com/cto-partner.html

Apply: https://boss-iq.com/apply-cto.html — one question at a time, ending by asking you to write the prompts you would use on day one, not code. I read every one myself.

Or write to me directly: ahmet@boss-iq.com

Lucia | Director of Corp Dev · Product Marketing Associate · MLOps Engineer | Remote (NYC / SEA / global overlap) | $140K–$200K + meaningful equity

Distribution is one of the last durable moats left; models are commoditizing, but knowing how attention and demand actually move through a system still compounds. That's what we're building: a growth control plane that turns distribution into something you can model and act on with certainty. Get this right and the outcome isn't in question.

We're hiring across three roles:

Director, Corporate Development: own strategic partnerships, fundraising support, and M&A/inorganic growth. For someone who can operate at the intersection of deal-making and narrative, and help steer where this company goes next.

Product Marketing Associate: translate a technically deep product into sharp positioning and demand. For someone who can make causal modeling and world models land with real buyers. Experience with working with social media and influencers, Reddit strongly preferred. Data Science Background heavily preferred.

MLOps Engineer: own the infra behind our modeling; production pipelines and serving for causal graph inference, state space models, and world models (JEPA-I, JEPA-II style). Creating certainty in distribution, in production, not just in notebooks. Stack: Python, PyTorch, some Rust; GCP; Ray for distributed training.

Interview process: intro call, screen, virtual onsite, decision.

Valkyrie Aero | Software Engineer (Autonomy, Perception, Frontend) | REMOTE (US) | Contract | U.S. Citizens | https://valkyrieaero.com

Valkyrie Aero is a DoD prime contractor. We're building an airborne system for a manned counter-drone aircraft (that we operate) to enable a crew to find and engage Group 2-3 drones at low cost. Hiring contract software engineers for three roles:

- Software Engineer, Autonomy

- Software Engineer, Perception

- Software Engineer, Frontend (HMI)

We’re a small team (for now) so this isn’t your traditional defense program. Bureaucracy kept to the absolute minimum. If you can work across more than one of these domains that’s a huge plus.

I'm on the engineering team and read every application myself. I do not use AI to screen your applications and will read and reply to every single one; but please don’t send over walls of LLM generated text, I’d much rather be communicating with humans!

Apply: https://valkyrie-aero.breezy.hr/ and mention HN in your application.

Supero | Cloud / Platform Engineer | REMOTE (SF Bay Area, CA, US · Bengaluru, KA, India) | Full-time | https://www.supero.dev/careers/cloud-platform-engineer/

We generate full-stack apps and deploy them — a generated app becomes a live URL, on our infrastructure or in the customer's own AWS or GCP account. It's in production and it has more shell script in it than it should. You'd own it, and the mandate is to make it boring. Kubernetes, GCP and AWS deploy paths, CI/CD, observability, cost, tenant boundary.

No on-call rotation today — it's the founders and whoever last touched it. Building a real one is part of the job, not something you inherit alone.

4+ years production infra, Kubernetes past the tutorial, AWS and/or GCP at depth. The rest is on the page, including the open problems that don't flatter us. I'm a co-founder — ask me anything here.

We're a mission-oriented org focused on bridging the global digital divide. Key to our strategy is our community game-making program: guiding learners to move from playing games to creating them. We're hiring a tech lead for our learner community platform.

Stack: Node.js, Nuxt/Vue, Apollo, GraphQL. 8+ years experience; open-source/community/edtech background desirable.
