Proton VPN (https://protonvpn.com/) | Senior Performance Engineer | Barcelona, Spain or Geneva, Switzerland | ONSITE

Proton VPN enables millions of people to connect securely and privately, even in places where the internet is restricted or unreliable. Delivering that experience means our service must perform flawlessly under highly variable, real-world conditions.

We are looking for a Senior Performance Engineer to lead our efforts in making Proton VPN the fastest, most resilient, and most reliable VPN service in the world.

You will define and drive the measurement, analysis, and optimization of Proton VPN’s end-to-end performance, across clients, platforms, and global infrastructure. You’ll help ensure that every connection is fast, stable, and private, regardless of where the user is or what network they’re on.

We're looking for candidates with experience in system-level development (e.g. C or C++ or Rust), and network engineering (experience working with UDP/TCP and VPN protocols).

Quadrillion (quadrillion.io) | Member of Technical Staff | NYC (ONSITE) | Full-time | $175K-$350K + generous equity

We build agents that companies can deploy for computational research. In particular, we built a custom editor (a ground-up replacement for Jupyter and VSCode) for agents to (a) work in notebooks and (b) coordinate with each other. You can fire off an agent to test a new reward function, spin up five to experiment across competing models, or send a Slack to kick off long-running, autonomous model training jobs. We’ve built a multi-agent coordination system that outperforms CC/Cursor at real research tasks, and are starting trials now with top-10 quant funds and AI labs.

We raised a $17M seed round led by Audacious and Conviction, with support from Bloomberg Beta, ex/ante, Wes McKinney (creator of Pandas), and several unicorn founders. Our team is composed of quants (ex-HRT, Citadel), PhD’s, and great founding engineers.

We’re hiring for high-agency engineers with sharp technical taste and experience in Python + React. We’d be particularly excited to meet full-stack folks with infra experience (distributed systems, cloud orchestration, etc) as we launch our cloud product.

Apply at https://careers.quadrillion.io/ — we’ll get back to you ASAP.

SkySafe (https://skysafe.io) | Wireless Engineer (SDR) | San Diego, CA | ONSITE (Hybrid)

At SkySafe we build drone detection and tracking at scale.

I am looking for a Wireless Communications Engineer with SDR expertise to join my team - I'm the hiring manager.

I need someone with a very strong background in signal theory and experience building software wireless modems. You will spend time learning about new systems from our reverse engineers (no RE experience required!), implementing both open and recovered specifications, and refactoring existing modems code to improve it in both theory (ie - what is the algorithmic state of the art for demodulating xyz thing) and practice (ie - how much memory bandwidth and CPU are you using where). As such, I'm looking for someone with true software modem experience; while DSP, FGPA, and generated code experience are useful and relevant, you'll need to be able to read and write C++ directly.

I need someone who can come into the office in San Diego as needed to work with hardware, so this is a hybrid on-site role. This position requires access to technology which is controlled by US Export laws, so you also need to be an eligible US Person.

What we have to offer: $145-200k. Fun, small team dynamic. Work with experts in adjacent fields. Startup environment with good work-life balance and limited red tape. Rapid iteration and feedback in the wild. Good equipment at the office.

Apply: brian@ for a direct line, https://jobs.lever.co/skysafe for the formal route (we have some other roles I'm not the HM for listed there, too, if you're interested in the company!)

Nectar Social (https://www.nectarsocial.com) | Software Engineer, Product Designer, Product Manager | Palo Alto, CA | Onsite | Full-time

Hi HN. I am an Engineering Manager at Nectar Social, and we're hiring across product, design and engineering.

The traditional playbook of buying ads on social media platforms no longer works for most brands. Buyers make purchasing decisions from organic conversations on social media platforms like Instagram, Reddit, X, and LinkedIn. Nectar listens to conversations in real time, surfaces actionable insights, attributes engagement to revenue, and drives conversions.

We came out of stealth last year and we are on a fast growth trajectory working with brands like OLIPOP, Hatch, K18, and Little Spoon. The company is ~30 FTEs and has many interesting challenges: 1. We ingest data from major social media which brings scaling and performance problems 2. We run AI agents on the content which requires us to control cost and optimize quality 3. We need to present lots of information about social conversations in an understandable way which requires good design. 4. We need to build resilient systems that can work within the constraints of our third party dependencies.

Our tech stack is React, Typescript, AWS, Pulumi, Postgres, Clickhouse and Turbopuffer. We use AI tools thoughtfully to optimize our daily work - Cursor, Claude Code, Graphite, v0 / Replit, and Granola.

The roles we are hiring for:

- Staff Backend Engineer - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/e5797dfd-275e-4a7a-b9... - Staff Product Engineer - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/2f942c62-bc21-41a2-ae... - Founding Mobile Engineer (React Native) - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/192caa1d-8f36-472f-b9... - Senior Product Designer - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/673bbd54-9a3b-4478-84... - Senior Product Manager - https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/nectar-social/b63c6254-df3d-406e-83...

Top of Mind (https://topofmind.cloud) | AI Software Engineer, Marketing Engineer | REMOTE (EU timezone) | Full-time

We're building relationship intelligence. Not another CRM, not another note-taking app. Top of Mind turns conversations, meetings, and interactions into structured knowledge you can actually act on. A knowledge layer between raw information and real understanding. Small team, shipping fast, AI-augmented everything (we use Claude Code daily).

Hiring two roles, both remote in EU timezone.

AI Software Engineer — React Native, Expo, Claude Code. You'll build the core product. High ownership, small team, no playbook needed.

Marketing Engineer — B2C marketing, content, growth. Technical enough to build, creative enough to tell the story.

Horison.ai | Applied Research Engineer + ML/AI Engineer | London, UK (Onsite/Hybrid)

Horison is building the intelligence substrate for private capital - not another RAG wrapper, but a foundational platform for how organisations structure, contextualise, and reason over proprietary information.

We're a funded, early-stage team of second-time founders, with backgrounds across fintech infrastructure, ML, and knowledge representation.

As Applied Research Engineer, you'll own the depth of our knowledge and retrieval infrastructure - ontology design, hybrid retrieval (dense/sparse/structured), information extraction, and knowledge quality systems. You'll translate research into production and shape the technical direction of a core system from day one.

You should have research experience in IR, NLP, or knowledge representation, and you should have shipped something real. Team of six, high ownership, no fluff.

Tether - https://tether.io/ - we are hiring for multiple roles 100% remote.

Fullstack Developers

You'll work across the JavaScript and TypeScript layer of our local AI stack. Depending on the project, you might build user-facing applications (mobile or desktop) or contribute to the platform layer that bridges our C++ inference engines with the app ecosystem. Either path puts you at the heart of making local AI usable: whether you're crafting polished product experiences or building the SDK and bindings that other developers rely on. This role suits engineers who thrive in a full-stack JS environment and want to be part of a system where AI runs privately, locally, and fast.

Apply at: https://tether.recruitee.com/o/middleware-engineer-fullstack...

Lead React Native Engineer and React Native Engineers

You will be working on developing cutting edge mobile applications integrating crypto wallets and defi features.

You will also contribute to backend components when needed to support mobile features and unblock mobile delivery.

Apply at: https://tether.recruitee.com/o/lead-software-engineer-mobile...

Product Engineer:

You'll own the vision and execution of local AI products, from roadmap to release. Half your time goes into code, the other half into alignment: defining what to build, why it matters, and how to ship it well. You'll lead a pod of engineers across the stack, ensuring that the power of on-device AI translates into products people actually want to use.

This role is for builders who care deeply about the end result: making local, private, and powerful AI accessible through thoughtfully designed products.

Prequel | Software Engineers (backend or full-stack) | NYC (ONSITE) | $170k-$210k | prequel.co

Prequel enables software companies to sync data to their customers' data environments, at massive scale. With the rise of agents, syncing data to customers' data environments is becoming table-stakes for a lot of software companies. We make that incredibly easy for them.

We're a team of four engineers based in NYC. We're cash-flow positive and growing fast. We're solving a number of hard technical problems that come with syncing hundreds of billions of rows of data every day with perfect data integrity: building reliable & scalable infrastructure, making data pipelines manageable without domain expertise, and creating a UX that abstracts out the underlying complexity to let the user share or receive data. We're powering this feature at companies like Stripe (Metronome), Gong, Iterable, and more.

Our stack is primarily Golang/K8s/Postgres/DuckDB/React/Typescript and we support deployments in both our public cloud as well as our customers' clouds. Due to the nature of the product, we work with nearly every data warehouse product and most of the popular RDBMSs.

Strobe | Senior Infrastructure & Data Integration Engineer | Brooklyn, NYC | ONSITE | Full-time

Strobe is building the world's largest power plant — not a single site, but a distributed fleet of buildings, batteries, EVs, and generators buying and selling power in real time across wholesale energy markets.

We need a software engineer to take ownership of our data integration and cloud infrastructure layer — the connective tissue between utilities, grid operators, OEM hardware, weather services, and our energy optimization engine.

What you'd own:

- Wholesale market integrations (NYISO, CAISO, ERCOT) — real-time pricing, capacity markets, demand response signals - OEM hardware integrations — API and data bridges to building equipment manufacturers for monitoring, control, and telemetry - Green Button Connect pipelines — ingesting interval consumption, billing, and meter data from utilities (ConEd, PG&E, SCE, etc.) via OAuth2 + ESPI - Weather and solar forecast data pipelines - Utility bill reproduction engine — modeling site economics before and after Strobe to forecast financial impact across dozens of rate structures. This simulation infrastructure is core to how we sell and deliver value. - Event-driven AWS infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync/GraphQL, EventBridge, IoT Core, TimeStream, Amplify, CloudWatch) - Terraform IaC — real module design, remote state, multi-workspace patterns - Observability and alerting on systems where downtime means missed market events and real dollars

Strong fit if you have:

- Deep AWS experience (IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, EventBridge, TimeStream or similar TSDB) - Production Terraform (modules, remote state, multi-workspace patterns) - Extensive Python (pydantic for models, click for CLIs, boto3 for AWS, async pipelines) - Experience integrating messy third-party APIs at scale (utilities, government, energy, OEMs) - Comfort with on-call for systems that control physical hardware and move real money

Stack: monorepo (heavily AI-agent-optimized) / Python / TypeScript / Rust / Terraform / AWS.

Small team (<10), high ownership, no layers. 5 days/week onsite at Newlab, Brooklyn Navy Yard.
